Automotive supplier DENSO opens new facility in Alabama

ABR Staff Writer Published 30 June 2014

Global automotive supplier DENSO has inaugurated its latest new warehousing facility in Montgomery, Alabama.

The $2.2m DENSO Manufacturing Michigan-Alabama Plant (DMMI-AL) is part of the company's expansion strategy to invest nearly $1bn in North America over a period of four years.

DMMI-AL plant director Mike Bowman said that the company has worked closely with the Montgomery community to revitalize the Smothers Road building into a world-class DENSO facility since announcing its Alabama expansion plans in October.

"Montgomery has been a great partner, and we are thrilled to have hired 30 people on the way to our goal of 45 new DENSO jobs here in Alabama," Bowman added.

The 103,000ft² DMMI-AL will support the warehousing and shipping of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units among other parts for DENSO's North American customers.
